The Wusthof 4187-7/17 Classic Ikon 7-inch hollow-edge Nakiri knife is designed to chop many vegetables one after another, making it a good choice for Japanese restaurants and establishments that boast menus replete with vegetables. Forged from a piece of high-carbon stainless steel, the blade and full tang boast high-quality construction that defends against rusting, so it's safe to use in humid areas. Also, the carbon composition component keeps the edge sharp over time for reduced sharpening and knife maintenance needs. To ensure long-lasting performance, the blade is cut with lasers and sharpened with whetstone during construction. When the blade must be sharpened, the half bolster design opens space for full-length sharpening and the heel bolster keeps the knife balanced as it's honed. Vertical indentions are placed evenly along the blade, creating air pockets that prevent vegetables from sticking to the knife after being chopped. A contoured handle provides a comfortable grip for users. Made of polyoxymethylene, its molecular structure wards off fading and discoloration to maintain its sleek look in the long term.
